Travel-Tourism: Search area expanded for missing hiker

The search area in Nepal for a missing Colorado woman has been expanded after initial searches turned up no trace of her.

Aubrey Sacco of Greeley was on a solo trek through the Himalayas when she last contacted her family more than a month ago. Her father and brother flew to Nepal this week and found her laptop computer and journal at a hotel.

Her family is working with the US Embassy there to find Sacco.

Aubrey Socco was last seen in Kathmandu on April 20, 2010.Colorado USA, May 19, 2010-A Colorado man and his son began flying to Nepal on Monday evening to help search for his 23-year-old daughter, who he says failed to contact her family after hiking there alone last month.

Paul Sacco says his daughter, Aubrey Sacco, last e-mailed her family on April 20, when she started what was to be a roughly 10-day trek through the Langtang valley region north of Kathmandu.

"I want people to see me and know more about my daughter, and feel the urgency that we need to have to search for her," Sacco said by phone Monday about his decision to fly to Nepal. "I understand, from talking with world travelers and others, that nothing substitutes for being there [during a search]."

Doha the Capitol of State of QatarQatar an oil rich gulf nation which could be the best source for tourists to Nepal as most of the population in qatar are from other expatriates, if a wel diverse promo could be organized, it may help to bring few thousands of vacation travellers to Nepal to mark the nepal tourism year next year.

In an effort to mark the nepal tourism year 2011, The Embassy of Nepal in Doha organized a tourism promotional programme entitled "Nepal-Qatar Sales Mission 2010" in Ramada Plaza Hotel on April 14, 2010.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Surya Nath Mishra, Ambassador of Nepal to the State of Qatar amidst a ceremony, according to a press communiqué issued by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
